Ms. Sheppard has worked in both private and academic management of Anatomic Pathology laboratories for the past 30 years. Her educational background includes degrees in Histotechnology, Biology and a Masters in Business Administration.

Her faculty experience consists of Clinical Experience Advisor, and Instructor, State University of New York at Cobleskill, Faculty, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Fundamental of Pathology and Adjunct Faculty at Pima County Community College Histology Program.

She has held the position of Chairperson of the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) HT/HTL ASCP examination committee and has held office as State President of New York and North Carolina, NSH Region 1 Director.

She is a voting member and committee representative with the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and is a member of the US ISO – Technical Advisory Group (TAG). Currently, Committee Member of the Histotechnology Committee, College of American Pathologists and is President of the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH).

She is Director, Global Standards, Ventana Medical Systems, Inc./ Roche Tissue Diagnostics in Tucson, Arizona.
