Eric Kaldjian, M.D., has been Medical Director, Companion and Translational Diagnostics at Ventana Medical Systems (Roche Tissue Diagnostics), since June, 2012, He is the medical lead for the Companion Diagnostics Lifecycle and heads the CAP/CLIA team of pathologists that provide pathology services for translational diagnostics studies and for the assay development laboratory.
Eric was a fellow in lymphoid pathology and experimental immunology at the National Cancer Institute. He received his medical degree and completed a residency in anatomic and experimental pathology at the University of Michigan. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Harvard and studied music at Trinity College Cambridge, England.
Eric began his industry career with Roche in clinical development in transplant and oncology and in experimental pathology. Later Eric worked with Parke-Davis/Pfizer in translational medicine, biomarker development and pathobiology. He has experience in molecular diagnostics with Transgenomic and in genomics with Gene Logic. Eric joined Ventana after serving as consultant Chief Medical Officer for Aastrom Bioscience, a biotechnology company developing patient-specific bone marrow-derived cell therapies.
